This solution is not swallowed or self-administered. Hospital staff mix its two chambers, inspect the clear solution and bag, warm it appropriately and deliver it by pump into the extracorporeal haemofiltration circuit. It must not be used unmixed, cold, cloudy, visibly contaminated or from a damaged container.
