How does lodoxamide trometamol work?
Lodoxamide stabilises mast cells, reducing allergen-triggered release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators. This helps control allergic eye redness, itching, watering and swelling.
How to take lodoxamide trometamol
Use only in the affected eye or eyes as prescribed. Food does not affect eye-drop administration.
Wash your hands and pull down the lower eyelid to form a pocket.
Apply the drops without touching the eye, eyelid or surrounding surfaces with the bottle tip.
Close the eye afterwards and press gently at the inner corner near the nose to reduce drainage into the body.
Replace the cap firmly after use.
Remove soft contact lenses before application; benzalkonium chloride can be absorbed by and discolour them.
