This product is licensed for symptomatic treatment in adults.
Nasal congestion together with a runny nose caused by a common cold.
It is not licensed for allergy, sinusitis without a cold or people under 18 years.
How does ipratropium bromide + xylometazoline hydrochloride work?
Xylometazoline narrows blood vessels in the nasal lining, reducing swelling. Ipratropium blocks muscarinic signalling in nasal glands, reducing watery secretions.

Strengths: 0.5 mg/mL + 0.6 mg/mL
How to take ipratropium bromide + xylometazoline hydrochloride
Use only in the nose and follow the pump-specific leaflet supplied with the bottle.
Clear the nose and keep the bottle upright.
Insert the nozzle, operate the pump and breathe in gently through the nose.
Clean and dry the nozzle after use, then replace the cap.
Prime or re-prime only as directed for the supplied pump.
Do not repeat an application if a full spray was not delivered.
Avoid the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with cold water.
Only one person should use each bottle.

Common or expected effects
- Nosebleed
- Nasal dryness, discomfort or burning
- Headache or dizziness
- Dry mouth or throat irritation
- Altered taste
- Nausea
Get urgent medical advice
- Severe allergic reaction, including facial or throat swelling, breathing difficulty or anaphylaxis
- Eye pain, blurred or halo vision, a red eye or increased eye pressure
- Marked palpitations, fast or irregular heartbeat
- Difficulty passing urine
- Bronchospasm, throat swelling or laryngospasm
ipratropium bromide + xylometazoline hydrochloride in pregnancy
Use during pregnancy is not advised because evidence for the combination is insufficient and xylometazoline can cause systemic vasoconstriction. Ask a pharmacist, midwife or prescriber about alternatives.
ipratropium bromide + xylometazoline hydrochloride while breastfeeding
It is not known whether either active ingredient passes into breast milk in clinically relevant amounts. Use while breastfeeding should be considered only after medical advice and an assessment of benefit and potential infant risk.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors
Combining these with xylometazoline, including shortly after stopping treatment, may cause a dangerous rise in blood pressure.
Tricyclic or tetracyclic antidepressants
The sympathomimetic effect may be enhanced, with a risk of substantially raised blood pressure.
Other oral or nasal decongestants
Concurrent use can increase adverse effects and should be avoided.
