Paracetamol reduces pain signalling and fever. Codeine is converted by CYP2D6 to morphine, producing variable effects and toxicity. Doxylamine has sedating antihistamine and antimuscarinic effects. Caffeine is a mild stimulant but does not prevent sedation.
