Correct answer: D — Multiple trials including GOG 120
In 1999, the US NCI issued a rare clinical alert based on five randomised trials (GOG 120, GOG 123, RTOG 90-01, Keys et al, Peters et al) all showing OS benefit for concurrent cisplatin-based CRT over RT alone for cervical cancer. This was one of the most practice-changing moments in gynaecological oncology. Weekly cisplatin 40 mg/m² during RT became the global standard. The absolute OS benefit was approximately 10-15% at 5 years.
