Prescribing considerations
- Confirm male hypogonadism using compatible clinical features and biochemical testing.
- Assess cardiovascular, hepatic, renal, prostate, thrombotic, sleep-apnoea and fertility risks.

Clinical pharmacology
The four ester prodrugs are hydrolysed to testosterone after entering the circulation. Testosterone binds extensively to plasma proteins and is metabolised to dihydrotestosterone and estradiol.
