What is oxerutins used for?

How does oxerutins work?
Oxerutins acts mainly at the lining of capillaries and small veins. It reduces excessive capillary permeability and supports microvascular function, helping to limit fluid leakage into surrounding tissue and reduce oedema.
How to take oxerutins
Take oxerutins exactly as directed by the prescriber or dispensing label.
Swallow capsules whole with a drink.
Do not crush or chew the capsules.
They may be taken with or without food.
Seek medical review if swelling does not improve or becomes worse.
oxerutins side effects
Common or expected effects
- No adverse effects are classified as common. Reported rare or very rare effects include indigestion, abdominal discomfort, wind, diarrhoea, rash, itching, hives, headache, dizziness, flushing, tiredness, photosensitivity, hair loss and joint pain.
Get urgent medical advice
- A very rare severe allergic reaction may cause facial, lip, tongue or throat swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.
oxerutins in pregnancy
Oxerutins should not be used during the first three months of pregnancy. Evidence from a limited number of exposed pregnancies has not identified adverse pregnancy or newborn effects, but use later in pregnancy should still be discussed with the prescriber.
oxerutins while breastfeeding
Only small amounts were found in milk in animal studies and the SmPC considers these unlikely to be clinically significant. The patient leaflet nevertheless advises use during breastfeeding only when recommended by a doctor.
oxerutins interactions
No clinically relevant medicine interactions are reported in the SmPC, but patients should still disclose all prescribed, purchased and complementary products.
