How does Mrna encoding lp.8.1 work?
Lipid nanoparticles deliver temporary mRNA instructions into cells. The cells briefly make the LP.8.1 spike antigen, prompting antibody and cellular immune responses. The mRNA does not replicate, and the vaccine contains no virus capable of causing COVID-19.
How to take Mrna encoding lp.8.1
A trained healthcare professional injects the vaccine into a muscle, usually in the upper arm. Tell the vaccinator about previous vaccine reactions, fever or severe illness, fainting with injections, bleeding conditions, blood-thinning treatment, immune suppression, pregnancy and recent vaccinations. The pre-filled syringe must not be diluted, shaken or mixed with another product in the same syringe.
Wear clothing that allows access to the upper arm.
Tell the vaccinator if you feel faint, dizzy or anxious around needles.
Do not drive or operate machinery until temporary dizziness has passed.

The selected vaccine can be used during pregnancy. Direct LP.8.1 pregnancy data are not yet available, but evidence from earlier Comirnaty variants has not identified increased adverse pregnancy outcomes. Programme eligibility depends on official recommendations and individual risk factors. Tell the vaccinator or maternity team that you are pregnant.
Mrna encoding lp.8.1 while breastfeeding
The vaccine can be used while breastfeeding. Harm to the breastfed infant is not anticipated, and earlier Comirnaty vaccines have not been associated with adverse effects in breastfed infants. Breastfeeding does not normally need to stop.
