How does mometasone + olopatadine hydrochloride work?
Olopatadine blocks histamine, which contributes to sneezing, itching and a runny nose. Mometasone acts locally as a corticosteroid to reduce inflammatory signalling, swelling and nasal blockage.

Strengths: 25 micrograms/actuation + 600 micrograms/actuation
How to take mometasone + olopatadine hydrochloride
Use only in the nose and follow the prescribed instructions. Prepare and re-prime the pump as described in the leaflet.
Shake the bottle well before every use.
Gently clear the nose and tilt the head slightly forwards.
Aim the nozzle towards the outside wall of the nostril, away from the nasal septum, and breathe in gently while spraying.
Wipe the nozzle with a clean tissue and replace the cap after use.
If blocked, soak and rinse the removable nozzle in warm water; never use a pin or sharp object.
Discard the bottle within two months of first opening or after its labelled number of actuations.

Get urgent medical advice
- Severe allergic reaction, including facial or throat swelling, wheezing or breathing difficulty
- Persistent bleeding, ulceration or possible damage to the nasal septum
- Blurred vision or other visual disturbance, which may indicate raised eye pressure, cataract or another eye disorder
- Possible systemic corticosteroid effects with excessive or prolonged exposure, including adrenal suppression and slower growth in adolescents
mometasone + olopatadine hydrochloride in pregnancy
Evidence for the fixed combination in pregnancy is limited, particularly for intranasal olopatadine. It should be used only when a prescriber considers that the expected benefit justifies the potential risk. Mometasone nasal spray alone is considered acceptable in pregnancy, but this does not establish the safety of the combination.
mometasone + olopatadine hydrochloride while breastfeeding
Combination-specific breastfeeding evidence is limited, so the prescriber should weigh the benefit of treatment against the benefit of breastfeeding. Intranasal mometasone alone produces very low maternal exposure and is considered compatible with breastfeeding, but olopatadine introduces additional uncertainty.

Tell the prescriber or pharmacist about all medicines, including nasal sprays, eye drops and non-prescription products.
Cobicistat and other strong CYP3A inhibitors
May increase systemic exposure to mometasone and the risk of corticosteroid adverse effects; avoid the combination unless benefit outweighs risk and monitor if used.
Other olopatadine products or antihistamines
May increase antihistamine adverse effects such as drowsiness or dry mouth.
Other corticosteroids
Combined exposure may increase the risk of systemic corticosteroid effects, including adrenal suppression.
