What is latanoprost + netarsudil mesylate used for?
Licensed in adults to reduce raised eye pressure when a prostaglandin or netarsudil alone has not provided sufficient reduction.

How does latanoprost + netarsudil mesylate work?
Both ingredients improve fluid drainage from the eye. Latanoprost mainly increases uveoscleral drainage, while netarsudil increases trabecular drainage and may reduce pressure in the episcleral veins.

Strengths: 50 micrograms/mL + 200 micrograms/mL
How to take latanoprost + netarsudil mesylate
Use only in the eye and follow the supplied leaflet and ophthalmology instructions.
Wash your hands and remove contact lenses.
Do not let the bottle tip touch the eye, eyelids, fingers or another surface.
After application, close the eye and gently press the inner corner beside the nose for about one minute.
Wait until temporary blurred vision clears before driving or using machinery.

Common or expected effects
- Eye redness
- Pain, stinging or discomfort when applied
- Fine whorl-like corneal deposits, usually without an apparent effect on vision
- Gradual iris darkening, which may be permanent
- Longer, thicker or darker eyelashes
- Itching, irritation, watering or dry eye
- Temporary blurred or reduced vision
- Eyelid redness, swelling or crusting
Get urgent medical advice
- Reduced vision or eye pain, particularly after previous eye surgery or with corneal swelling
- Severe or persistent eye inflammation
- Wheezing, breathlessness or worsening asthma
- Chest pain
- Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction
latanoprost + netarsudil mesylate in pregnancy
The product-specific UK SmPC says this combination should not be used during pregnancy. Tell the ophthalmology and maternity teams if pregnant or planning pregnancy; do not stop glaucoma treatment without advice.
latanoprost + netarsudil mesylate while breastfeeding
Netarsudil transfer into human milk is unknown, and latanoprost or its metabolites may enter milk. A prescriber should weigh the benefits of breastfeeding against the need for this combination and discuss alternatives where appropriate.

Clinically important interactions mainly involve other treatments applied to the eye.
Other prostaglandins or prostaglandin analogues
Using more than one may paradoxically increase eye pressure, so the combination is not recommended.

Can it permanently change eye colour?
