Children may absorb proportionally larger amounts of Haelan (fludroxycortide) cream because of their larger skin-surface-area-to-body-weight ratio, increasing susceptibility to systemic toxicity, including hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression and Cushing's syndrome.
