Potassium chloride 0.15%, sodium chloride 0.18% and glucose 4% infusion prevents or treats potassium, sodium and chloride depletion from gastrointestinal fluid loss, chronic laxative abuse, malabsorption, mucus-secreting small-intestinal villous adenoma or renal salt loss, particularly when an energy source is needed, such as during starvation.
