Persistent cervicitis or urethritis after common STI tests should prompt consideration of Mycoplasma genitalium, ideally with resistance-guided management. Candida does not usually cause cervicitis. Negative chlamydia and gonorrhoea tests do not exclude other sexually transmitted causes.
