Zopiclone is a Schedule 4 Part 1 controlled drug and is subject to controlled drug prescription validity rules. A prescription authorising a single supply cannot simply be reused next month unless it was issued in a lawful repeatable form where permitted and still valid. The PMR is not authority for a further POM supply. A new prescription or appropriate repeat dispensing arrangement is needed.
