Dual antiplatelet therapy increases minor bruising and bleeding tendency, but it is important after stent placement to reduce thrombosis risk. The patient should not stop either antiplatelet without specialist advice. Significant bleeding, black stools, haematuria or prolonged bleeding warrants medical review. NSAIDs may further increase bleeding risk.
