Correct answer: A — Use sun protection because doxycycline can cause photosensitivity

Doxycycline can cause photosensitivity, so sun protection and avoiding strong sunlight or sunbeds are important. It should be taken with plenty of water and the patient should avoid lying down immediately after dosing to reduce oesophageal irritation. Dairy, antacids and iron can reduce absorption if taken close together.
