Prescriptions for Schedule 2, 3 and 4 controlled drugs are generally valid for 28 days from the appropriate date. An oxycodone prescription dated 32 days ago is therefore outside the validity period. The pharmacist must not amend the date to make it valid. Patient endorsement does not extend legal validity.
