Correct answer: CRestart usual milk and food; encourage water and avoid juice or fizzy drinks

After successful rehydration, NICE advises immediate return to usual milk feeds and normal solid food, with continued fluid intake. Fruit juice and carbonated drinks should be avoided until diarrhoea has stopped because they may worsen it. Prolonged fasting, routine lactose exclusion, loperamide and fluid restriction are not appropriate. ORS can be used after large watery stools in children at increased risk of recurrent dehydration.
