Correct answer: BSerum amiodarone levels monthly

Amiodarone has a long half-life and routine serum level monitoring is not standard practice. However, regular monitoring of thyroid function (amiodarone contains iodine and can cause hypo- or hyperthyroidism), liver function (risk of hepatotoxicity), and annual chest X-ray (risk of pulmonary toxicity) are all recommended. Ophthalmological assessment is indicated if visual disturbances occur due to the risk of corneal microdeposits and optic neuropathy.
