Correct answer: DAvoid iron, calcium, aluminium, and zinc-containing supplements as they reduce absorption

Tetracyclines including lymecycline chelate with divalent and trivalent metal ions (calcium, iron, magnesium, aluminium, zinc), forming insoluble complexes that significantly reduce absorption. Patients should be advised to separate tetracycline doses from antacids, iron supplements, calcium, and dairy products by at least 2-3 hours. This is a class effect of all tetracyclines.
