A is correct. Fibre-reinforced composite incorporates fibres, commonly glass or polyethylene, within a resin matrix to improve properties such as flexural strength and fracture toughness. Recognised applications include frameworks for resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses, bonded splints for mobile teeth and fibre posts in endodontically treated teeth. Although several distractors contain one or two genuine FRC applications, alginate impression-taking, enamel remineralisation and fluoride-varnish delivery do not use FRC. Likewise, denture adhesive is not an FRC application, although fibres may be incorporated into a denture base to reinforce it.
