The correct answer is C. Lithium disilicate is a silica-containing glass ceramic, so its fitting surface can be micromechanically conditioned with hydrofluoric acid and chemically coupled to resin using silane. A thin, translucent veneer permits reliable light transmission; light-cured resin cement therefore provides adequate polymerisation, extended working time and favourable colour stability. Etching times and concentrations must follow the ceramic manufacturer's instructions. Zinc phosphate and glass ionomer cements do not provide the resin-mediated adhesive bond required for predictable veneer retention. Zinc oxide-eugenol is unsuitable for definitive veneer cementation and eugenol can interfere with resin polymerisation. A self-adhesive resin cement used without ceramic surface treatment does not provide the optimal bond to lithium disilicate.
