Fine dispersed or clustered calcified foci produce a flocculent or snowflake-like appearance. Ameloblastoma and ameloblastic fibroma can be associated with unerupted teeth but usually lack these fine calcifications. Odontogenic myxoma more often has a multilocular, trabeculated appearance. Cementoblastoma is a predominantly radiopaque mass fused to a tooth root. The original term 'driven-snow' was removed because it is more conventionally associated with calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumour.
