Correct answer: B — Palatine, pharyngeal, lingual and tubal tonsils
Option B is correct. Waldeyer's ring is the annular arrangement of lymphoid tissue at the entrance to the upper aerodigestive tract. Its four named components are the paired palatine tonsils, the pharyngeal tonsil (adenoid), the lingual tonsil and the paired tubal tonsils near the pharyngeal openings of the auditory tubes. The cerebellar tonsils are parts of the cerebellum and are not lymphoid tissue. Retropharyngeal, jugulodigastric, submental and submandibular lymph nodes participate in regional lymphatic drainage but are not components of Waldeyer's tonsillar ring.
