A is correct. Adenomatoid odontogenic tumour predominantly affects females in the second decade of life and favours the anterior jaws, particularly the maxilla. The follicular variant surrounds an unerupted tooth, with the canine involved in nearly 70% of reported follicular cases. An adolescent female with an anterior maxillary lesion around an unerupted canine is therefore the classic presentation. Posterior mandibular or ramus lesions are more characteristic of other odontogenic lesions, particularly when associated with molars. AOT can occur in the anterior mandible or outside adolescence, but these combinations are less typical; posterior maxillary disease in adolescent males is also uncommon.
