How does follitropin alfa + lutropin alfa work?
FSH promotes ovarian follicle growth. LH supports steroid hormone production and follicle development and maturation. Replacing both deficient hormones helps a follicle and its egg develop within a fertility cycle.

How to take follitropin alfa + lutropin alfa
Use only under the supervision of a fertility specialist. Follow the product-specific instructions and training supplied by the clinic.
Inject beneath the skin and rotate injection sites to reduce irritation.
Self-administration is appropriate only after adequate training and while expert advice remains available.
Use only a clear solution without visible particles.
For the powder-and-solvent product, mix by gentle swirling immediately before use. Do not shake or store the reconstituted solution.
For the pre-filled pen, use a new needle for each injection, remove it afterwards and dispose of it in a sharps container. Do not share the pen or needles.

- Headache
- Injection-site pain, redness, bruising, swelling or irritation
- Ovarian cysts
- Abdominal or pelvic pain, bloating or discomfort
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea
- Breast pain
- Mild or moderate ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome
Get urgent medical advice
- Severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, including marked abdominal swelling or pain, rapid weight gain, reduced urination or breathlessness
- Serious allergic reaction, including facial swelling or difficulty breathing
- Blood clot symptoms such as chest pain, sudden breathlessness or a painful swollen leg
- Sudden severe pelvic pain, which may indicate ovarian torsion
- Worsening asthma

This combination is not indicated during pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs or it is used inadvertently during pregnancy, contact the fertility team. Human exposure data are limited and cannot fully exclude fetal risk.

This combination is not indicated while breastfeeding. Discuss feeding plans with the fertility specialist before treatment.
