How to take chlorhexidine acetate
Apply topically for irrigation. Do not swallow or inject it. Check that the solution is clear and the seal intact. Keep it away from the eyes and ears, and prevent pooling in skin folds or beneath the patient.
Use only for the purpose directed by the clinical team.
Do not mix with soaps, anionic materials or unapproved additives.
Remove soaked materials and excess solution before applying an occlusive dressing.

- Chemical skin burns, particularly in premature newborn babies when solution pools or remains beneath dressings or materials
