Prescribing considerations
- Confirm that the indication is allergic rhinitis or chronic idiopathic urticaria under the selected licences.
- Assess renal function, age, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, concurrent sedatives and the patient's need to drive or operate machinery.
- The selected products are not established for children under 12 years and are not recommended above 65 years because of insufficient study.

Clinical pharmacology
Acrivastine is a competitive H1-receptor antagonist with limited central nervous system penetration and little significant anticholinergic activity. It is absorbed orally and eliminated mainly unchanged through the kidneys.

Acrivastine may worsen these effects.
Erythromycin or ketoconazole
