Mock exams answer two questions: what are my weak areas (diagnostic), and am I ready to sit (calibration)?

The Comparison

Passmedicine. Full 160-question timed mocks (updated for 2025 format). Peer benchmarking shows your score vs other candidates sitting the same diet. Strongest for calibration — the peer comparison data answers "am I ready?" with evidence.

Pastest. Full mock exams across all question formats — SBA, EMQ, SAQ, FTM, MBA. Best format diversity. The multi-format exposure matters for trainees who only practise SBAs.

Emedica. Full 160-question mock in the standalone Q-bank, additional mocks in the Pass Guarantee programme. Detailed post-mock analysis.

FourteenFish. 1,000+ questions with performance reports highlighting weak and strong areas. Best for initial diagnostics early in revision — identify your baseline before intensive preparation.

i-Medics. No formal mock exam feature — questions can be done in timed batches but not in realistic exam format.

Mock Exam Strategy

Diagnostic mock at 12 weeks (FourteenFish or primary Q-bank — establish baseline). Regular mocks every 2 weeks from week 5. Final calibration mock at 1 week before exam. Analyse domain performance (clinical vs EBP vs organisational), not just total score.

Score Threshold

Consistently scoring 65%+ across mocks suggests readiness. Below 60% consistently suggests more preparation needed. Individual mock scores can vary — the trend matters more than any single result.

Where iatroX Fits

iatroX's adaptive quiz provides continuous readiness data without scheduling formal mocks — your topic-level performance scores update after every session, giving a live diagnostic dashboard alongside periodic formal mocks from your primary Q-bank.
