Why is latex allergy relevant to the risk of anaphylaxis with oxytocin?

Latex allergy or intolerance may predispose women to anaphylaxis after oxytocin because of structural similarity between oxytocin and latex, and anaphylaxis has been reported in women with known latex allergy.
