Why does using teicoplanin with furosemide require caution?

Teicoplanin requires caution when used with or sequentially with furosemide because furosemide is among medicines with known kidney-toxic and/or nerve- or ear-toxic potential, although there is no evidence of synergistic toxicity with teicoplanin.
