Why can cobicistat-containing medicines increase the risk of side effects from Nasonex nasal spray (mometasone)?

Cobicistat-containing medicines inhibit CYP3A, and combining them with Nasonex nasal spray (mometasone) is expected to increase systemic corticosteroid side-effects; avoid the combination unless benefits outweigh this increased risk, in which case monitor for these side-effects.
