Which adults with gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) are eligible for Glivec (imatinib) treatment?

Glivec (imatinib) is indicated for adults with Kit (CD117)-positive unresectable and/or metastatic malignant GIST, or as adjuvant treatment after resection of Kit (CD117)-positive GIST when relapse risk is significant; patients at low or very low recurrence risk should not receive adjuvant treatment.
