Wernicke encephalopathy has been reported after arsenic trioxide (Trisenox) treatment in patients with vitamin B1 deficiency; those at risk of deficiency should be closely monitored for encephalopathy after treatment starts, and some cases recovered with vitamin B1 supplementation.
