It is mainly used to control selected focal and tonic-clonic seizures. Particular products are also licensed for hospital seizure emergencies, seizures associated with neurosurgery or severe head injury, second-line trigeminal neuralgia and, for one selected injection, certain cardiac dysrhythmias.
