What is known about systemic absorption after ocular administration of Lotemax (loteprednol etabonate)?

Lotemax (loteprednol etabonate) showed limited, if any, systemic absorption: following one drop per eye eight times daily for 2 days or four times daily for 42 days, plasma levels remained below detection (500 pg/mL) and quantitation (1 ng/mL), with normal cortisol and no evidence of adrenal cortex suppression.
