For the Baxter Healthcare Ltd product Glucose 5% Intravenous Infusion BP, monitor fluid balance, serum glucose, serum sodium and other electrolytes before and during administration, especially with SIADH or vasopressin agonists because of hyponatraemia risk; sodium monitoring is particularly important as glucose metabolism can make the infusion extremely hypotonic.
