Librium (chlordiazepoxide hydrochloride) is indicated for short-term (2–4 weeks) symptomatic treatment of severe, disabling or unacceptably distressing anxiety, alone or with insomnia or short-term psychosomatic, organic or psychotic illness; muscle spasm of varied causes; and symptomatic relief of acute alcohol withdrawal.
