For Strepsils Sore Throat and Blocked Nose, reported effects of 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol at short-term OTC doses include tongue pain, oral discomfort and hypersensitivity (rash, hives or angioedema, including face, neck, throat or tongue swelling that may affect breathing), all of unknown frequency.
