For suspected soft tissue sarcomas in children and young people, consider a very urgent, direct access ultrasound scan to be done within 48 hours if ultrasound suggests the possibility of soft tissue sarcoma or clinical concern persists [1. 11. 6].

For suspected bone sarcomas in children and young people, consider a very urgent referral for an appointment within 48 hours if an X-ray suggests the possibility of bone sarcoma [1. 11. 2].

In practice, young people aged 16 to 24 may be referred using either pathway depending on their age and local arrangements [1. 11.].
