Recommended imaging study for confirming pituitary apoplexy: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the pituitary gland is the preferred imaging modality to confirm a diagnosis of pituitary apoplexy due to its superior soft tissue contrast and ability to detect haemorrhage and infarction within the pituitary.

Urgency of imaging: Imaging should be performed urgently once pituitary apoplexy is suspected clinically, as early diagnosis is critical to guide prompt management and prevent complications.
