Consider referring a patient with antisocial personality disorder to mental health services when there is a need for comprehensive assessment of antisocial behaviours, personality functioning, comorbid mental disorders, or risk of violence and harm to self or others, especially if structured assessment tools are required or if risk management plans need to be developed involving multiple agencies .

Referral should also be considered if the patient exhibits significant antisocial behaviours that require specialist intervention, or if there are concerns about offending behaviour, violence, or complex comorbidities that need specialist assessment and management .
