Antihypertensive therapy should be initiated in pregnant women with gestational hypertension if their blood pressure remains above 140/90 mmHg, to reduce the risk of adverse maternal and fetal outcomes .

Pharmacological treatment is offered once blood pressure exceeds this threshold, with a target of 135/85 mmHg or less .
