In a primary care setting, no imaging studies are recommended for confirming the diagnosis of testicular torsion . If testicular torsion is clinically suspected, the recommended action is to arrange emergency hospital admission to urology or paediatric surgery . This is because testicular torsion is considered a urological emergency requiring immediate surgical exploration . Surgical repair should ideally be performed within 4 hours to salvage the testicle .
