Correct answer: BIV micafungin (or amphotericin B) AND removal of the central line

Candidaemia in neonates requires systemic antifungal therapy (IV micafungin, amphotericin B, or fluconazole) AND removal of all central venous catheters. Delayed line removal is associated with persistent candidaemia and increased mortality. Ophthalmological examination for Candida endophthalmitis and renal USS are recommended.
