Obstructed TAPVC is a surgical emergency. Without urgent surgical correction, obstructed pulmonary venous return causes severe pulmonary oedema and cardiovascular collapse. Medical stabilisation with PGE1 is not helpful as it is not a duct-dependent lesion.
