Correct answer: C — The ear, mandible, and soft tissues of the affected side
Hemifacial microsomia (craniofacial microsomia, Goldenhar syndrome when associated with epibulbar dermoids and vertebral anomalies) is the second most common congenital craniofacial anomaly after cleft lip/palate. It results from defective development of the first and second pharyngeal arches, predominantly affecting one side. Features include mandibular hypoplasia (condylar and ramus), microtia/anotia (ear malformation), facial soft tissue deficiency, macrostomia, and facial nerve weakness. Management is multidisciplinary.
