Correct answer: BTertiary (reparative/reactionary) dentin

Tertiary dentin is formed in response to local stimuli such as caries, attrition, abrasion, or restorative procedures. Reactionary dentin is secreted by surviving original odontoblasts in response to mild stimuli. Reparative dentin is secreted by newly differentiated odontoblast-like cells from the dental pulp in response to severe stimuli (when original odontoblasts are destroyed). Primary dentin forms during tooth development; secondary dentin forms throughout life at a slow, steady rate.
