Behçet disease is a chronic, relapsing multisystem vasculitis characterised by the classic triad of recurrent oral aphthous ulcers, genital ulcers, and ocular inflammation (anterior or posterior uveitis). Additional features may include skin lesions (erythema nodosum, papulopustular lesions), arthritis, and neurological involvement. It is most prevalent along the ancient Silk Road (Turkey, Iran, Japan). Oral ulcers are often the presenting feature and are clinically indistinguishable from major or minor RAS.
