Correct answer: CI-bar clasp

An I-bar (Roach clasp) approaches the undercut from a gingival direction and engages the retentive undercut at the cervical third of the tooth. It is indicated when the survey line (height of contour) is located in the cervical third. Circumferential clasps approach from an occlusal direction and are better suited when the undercut is in the middle third. The I-bar provides excellent aesthetics as it contacts less tooth surface.
